The Lannisters in 'A Game Of Thrones' by George R.R. Williamson, abuse their power through the use of wealth and intimidation. Joffrey, the bastard son of an incestuous relationship between two Lannisters, becomes the unrighteous usurper of the crown, and therefore the Baratheons attempt to use their power to regain possession of the throne. King Joffrey abuses his power in order to neutralise potential threats thereto.
